“The Only thing I know about you is you are the one and I don’t know what to do when you left”

I keep silent all week after Chris presidential election. My dorm mates are concern about me but they understand how I feel, so they give me space for a while. Since James dump me, then Kaitlyn avoiding me, and now Chris.

Do I deserve all the blame? Why they took everything for themselves and no one even want to listen? I should talk to Abbie, since she is the last girl in this room and she’s not ignoring me. But, what if she disagrees? What if I am the one whose wrong? What if….

I slap my cheek softly and banish the entire stupid thing about my speculations. I decide to take a long shower and go somewhere to clear my mind. I can’t be like this forever. I need to move on.

MC walks to bathroom as fast as possible. She ignores all the distraction and takes a long shower and get ready to go. As she walks outside, Abbie catch up with her and they talk outside the dorm.

“Are you okay, MC?” ask Abbie.

“I don’t know. Maybe…”

“Where are you going?”

“I don’t know. I just wanna walk and clear my mind”

“Are you sure? Do I have to join you?”

“Oh, no Abbie! It’s okay. I’ll be fine. I just need a fresh air and…. Well, I’ll be fine Abbie. I promise”

“Hm… Okay, but promise me one more thing”

“Yes?”

“If you need me, please make a call. I’ll come as fast as I can”

MC smiles weakly and hug Abbie. Abbie hugs her back and pat her.

“Thank you Abbie, your support is more than enough for me. I’ll be back soon after my mind clear again”

“Then, when is that happen?”

MC Shrug and laugh. After that she walks to the park when she met Chris for the first time.

It’s been a very long time since I came here. All people who love me are now a complete stranger. I don’t understand why this is happen. The one that almost completely honest is only Vasquez. The only person that makes me sympathizes in the end is him, but because of him my relationship with James is suffer.

MC stands from the bench and makes another walk to other place. She decided to go to Café and say hi to Brandon. As she walked in to the café, she caught James sit on the corner, Zack spot her and call her before she had a chance to walk outside. James turns his eyes to the door and MC hides her face with her hand. She walks and sits next to Zack.

“Hey, gloomy! You finally out from your cave” Zack teasing

“Zack, what are you doing here? Why you call me so loud?”

“Excuse me? Are you MC? How long do you know me?”

“I know, but… Zack….”

MC gives a sign to Zack to look at the corner. He gasped silently and say sorry.

“Well, I hope he didn’t realize and I need to get outta’ here ASAP”

“I understand but where are you going?”

“I don’t know. I need a fresh air. I need to clear my mind and this place is totally not the right place”

“Do I have join?”
“No, thanks Zack. I’ll be fine. Well, I gotta go now before he see me”

“Okay, don’t do anything weird MC!”
“I’ll try. Catch you later”

MC peeking to James seat and he’s so busy with his work so she thinks this is the right time to sneak out. MC walks faster and goes somewhere.

Where would I go? I’m lost and unloved. My family is broke, everyone who loves me now hates me, and I could lose my scholarship. My life is so terrible. Why?

MC eyes start to get teary, she wipe the tears away and walk again. After a long road and many things happen on the street, she stop in front of giant Christmas tree. She raises her chin and lookup to the tip of the tree. Her eyes start to teary again, not because the tree or her surrounding.

She let the tears out silently. She closes her eyes and reminiscing all the great thing about her life. She had friend who love her so much, she had a chance to be one of the assistant of the most prestigious writer, and she had a chance to date a good and great guy.  Suddenly, she feels warm inside and everything seems right. She opens her eyes and smiles widely.

As she turned around, she got bumped to James. She just realizes that this place is totally packed.

“J…James? What are you doing here?”

“Just walking around, how about you?”

“Well, same here”

MC gives awkward laugh and then they were in silence

“Oh, do I get in your way? I’m so sorry”

“No, its okay. Well, this place is so crowded. Wanna join me to go somewhere?”

James offer is so surprising to MC. Why now?

“I want to… but I think I should go back to dorm...”

James looks a little disappointed for a while, but then he grabs her hand and making a way for them to get out from the crowds”

“It was tough” said James

“Totally”

They laugh together

“Um, thank you by the way”

“Come on…”

“Well, I guess my dorm is that way… so…”

“Oh yeah, I… go to the other way”

“Okay.. Bye James”

“…Bye, be safe”

“I will. You too”

As they walk, they are sneaking each other. Since she got a little closure about her heart, she’s feeling better now. She walks faster to the dorm and jump into the couch, joining the others. Abbie looks surprised but then she hug MC so tightly.

“Welcome home!” 

“I guess we should celebrate this moment” said Zack while walking to kitchen

“Yeah, MC is on board again!”said Tyler cheerfully.

“Thank you guys! I’m home!”

Zack opens a bottle of wine and serve it to MC and others. After all, MC feels like home again. She realizes that no one could replace this people. After a long chat and laugh, they got back to their room. MC holds Abbie and asks her to come to her room to talk. Abbie nods and they walk to MC’s room.

“Abbie, I don’t know if this is right or not… But, I wanna tell you this”

“What happen MC?”

“Um, I was at this place…. With a huge Christmas tree, you know where it is right?”

“Uh-huh”

“Well, I met James…”

“SERIOUSLY?”

MC closes Abbie’s mouth with her hand and gives sign to not make a scene.

“Wait, you met him? But how?”

“Well, I don’t know. I just did and I’m not expected that”

“This is insane, what’s next?”

“Well, I just realized the place is already packed and he asked me to go somewhere”

“Wa… Hold up, he’s a total jerk, isn’t he?”

“I don’t know, I wish. But he isn’t”

“Then, what happen?”

“Well, I said I wanna go back to dorm…”

“Right answer”

“And he look disappointed”

“Really? Boys”

“But he grabs my hand and help me out from the crowd”

“Oh… He did that?”

“Yeah, I hate to admit. But, I still love him. So much…”

“I understand. But… You need to think about this”

“Yes, I know. That’s why I’m not going with him”

“You need to understand your feelings, I like James. He’s….ok. But, You know what he did to you. Unless you’re ready to feel that way again, well… Just think about it okay”

“Okay, if we were meant to each other. We’ll going back together before we know it”

Abbie squeeze MC’s shoulder and stand up, get ready to go to bed

“Whatever your decision, make sure it is for the best. We are all here for you. Get some rest.”

“Thanks Abbie, you are the best”

“I know right?”

They both laugh and back to each other room. Even though MC just got clearer mind, in the deep of her heart she still holds her hopes to James. She tucks in to bed and sleep.

Like usual, MC goes to Vasquez office. MC felt a butterfly in her stomach every time she thinks she might encounter James. For a while, she can be relieved. But, James come out of nowhere and make awkward move.

“Um, Hi”

“…Good morning, MC. You’re early”

“Err, yeah I just wanna drop an essay. I’m going out now. Bye”

As she walked to the door, MC tripped and James caught her. She can feel her heartbeat beating faster than usual and she tried to get away from James

“Hey, are you okay?” ask James worried

“I’m okay. Thank you James”

As she tried to walk again, MC walk stagger. James caught her again and now he holds her tightly.

“No, You’re not okay. Stop lying. You know I hate that, right?”

MC not answering, her vision is blurry and suddenly it blackout.
